Trial of Eternity - Devlog v0.2.0-alpha


Hey everyone! Just pushed a new update with some important fixes and a brand new feature.

What's New

============

Non-Combat Encounters System - You'll now occasionally encounter mysterious events when entering combat (starting at wave 5). These special encounters offer choices instead of combat - find a wandering merchant, stumble upon ancient shrines, or face moral dilemmas. Each choice has consequences. Events have a 20% chance to appear with a 3-wave cooldown between them, so expect roughly one event every 15 waves or so.

Lightning Strike Rework - The Mage's Lightning Strike spell now has a 10% chance to paralyze enemies for 1 turn, skipping their next action. This adds some tactical RNG to the spell and gives it more utility beyond just damage.

Improved Death Screen - The game over screen now shows your last 8 combat log messages instead of just one line. This gives you much better context on exactly what killed you - whether it was a devastating combo, status effects stacking up, or that cursed ring you probably shouldn't have equipped. Also fixed the gold tracking to show total gold earned throughout your run rather than just what you had when you died.

Note: If you're continuing an old save from v0.1.9, the total gold earned stat will start tracking from this update forward (old gold won't be retroactively counted).

Bug Fixes

- Fixed enemy Enrage ability dealing absurd damage (was multiplying by 11x instead of 1.1x - oops!)

- Fixed Demon Lord's Life Drain ability showing "NaN HP" in combat log
